At my previous employer, wanted to build a project with Flex 1.5, client couldn't/wouldn't pay for it, so we built it with Flash - took 5 times longer, and was 5-times buggier but it was do-able. Basically had to write the same kinds of classes for Flash that macromedia already built for Flex, and make it renderable by descriptive XML. It was a fun project, but I wish I had Flex. It was a very large interactive portal with different elements which also displayed metrics dashboards.
