There are a few MM people on list.
As for this being a CF majority list, that's great as Flex is supposed to be a
programmers way of creating Flash UI. We're programmers. We should have some
say.

Yes. Sparkle will be a threat unless MM can get a solid, developer friendly
application out there and accepted by the mass of people before Sparkle comes
around. Flash is a standard, but the development of Flash apps is still a
non-programmer thing. MS is well versed in making things for programmers. MM is
not, they're focus is on the artsy designer (Dreamweaver over Studio is just the
tip of the iceberg and Flash pro doesn't go anywhere near far enough to satisfy
most programmers). If Flex is to be the programmer's way of creating Flash, then
it has to come out first, be solid as hell, make programmers happy and be
something that MS can never win against.
As is, the feelings I'm hearing tell me that this will not be the case. Will
Flex be for the average programmer? Feeling is that it will be a huge, pricy
thing like Breeze that the average programmer will never get to use. Will it be
a programmers solution? supposibly, but I know of only 1 or 2 CF programmers on
the beta. How can a product be created for programmers without having a wide
range of programmers on the beta? Will it be able to beat Sparkle? Not unless it
can get everywhere and the public relations team can do something about the
community feelings (and I'm not just talking CF community here).
As is, there are a lot of people who are connected to MM in some way (TMM, MMUG
managers, etc.) who are none to happy about being left out of the beta. These
are the ones who manage and support the community. Pissing them off is not a
good start.
