I'm an Engineer on Flex and I've started watching this list. I'm just letting you know I'm out here but I'm not an official contact like Christophe is. I suggest keeping up on the Macromedia site and mailing him with questions you might have.
As for the Beta I didn't see the email and I don't know all the numbers. I do know the simple story. # of allowed particpants compared to a normal ColdFusion Beta: very very small. # of applications: very very large. So if you did not get accepted for the beta you are part of the vast majority. Also, my understanding of the NDA is that particpants are not supposed to reveal that they are beta testers.
I'm sure this doesn't make you feel much better but we are aware of your frustations.
