The size has to do with all the Flex Framework components, yes its bigger but a richer set of components.
Even if Laslo did a lot of interperting at the runtime level it could still have decent performance, I assume its not a problem as Laslo is viable. The richness of Flex Framework is not to be over looked though. They will only keep bringing out more and more components.
