Here's what the help says:Embedding SWF files for Flash Player 8 and earlier 
You can embed SWF files created for Flash Player 8 and earlier. When 
embedded, your Flex 2.0 application cannot interact with the embedded SWF file. 
That is, you cannot use ActionScript in a Flex 2.0 application to access the 
properties or methods of a SWF file created for Flash Player 8 or earlier.NOTE You can use the flash.net.LocalConnection class to communicate between a Flex 
2.0 application and a SWF file created for Flash Player 8 or earlier.This is from "Flex 2.0 Developer's Guide > Flex Programming Topics > Embedding Assets > Embedding asset types".

            Hi all, I just joined this group.. and so far I'm delited with Flex
but I wonder this...

I've spend so much time developing with Flash to aproach RIA that I
would like to know how can I integrate something done already with
Flash in Flex. Hopefully someone can help me do something like this:

a) I have a Flash movie that behaves like an aplication with it's own
buttons, actions, components, datagrids, etc.
b) I want to embed this application within a new Flex application and
have them talk to each other... meaning to trigger actions, bind
variables, etc.

If this approach is old-fashion.. what would be a new approach..
Program a component in Flash and compile it as a SWC ? or what ?
