If I was a paying customer whose sole business dependent upon every release of software that goes GA to meet advertised dates, I could see your point. And believe me when I say I HAMMER vendors for not making their advertised dates for anomaly resolutions and new feature sets in my line of work because that definitely affects my BUSINESS. But I, like the rest of us "Amateur Radio Hobbyist", made an investment in the "hardware" knowing fully well that the software would forever be improved and bring new features and functionalities to the table. And, as an extra added bonus, the software is and was advertised as free of charge. What more could one ask for in such a "hobby"? I tell you what, why don't you ask the other major vendors to adopt similar business models, particularly the "FREE" part, and I am not just talking about exclusively within the Amateur realm, and report back to us the response(s) you receive. As for me, I am fine with the free upgrades that I receive. And if it takes a little longer to get them right such that my hardware does not become damaged, then so be it. MY revenue stream, thus my family's livelihood does not depend upon "FREE" software to meet advertised dates; let's put this in the right perspective.
Gerald and team, keep up the great work, you all are definitely appreciated. 73, Mike W5CUL -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of David Painter Sent: Sunday, May 23, 2010 1:55 PM To: Flexedge Subject: [FlexEdge] Announcements Flex, Please, please stop with these 'Jam Tomorrow' announcements about new Hardware and Software. The past two years have shown the reflector posts, Dayton announcements and delivery dates on the website to be utterly meaningless (some might say deliberately misleading marketing hype). _______________________________________________ Flexedge mailing list [email protected] http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexedge_flex-radio.biz This is the FlexRadio Systems e-mail Reflector called FlexEdge.
