thanks eric
yes, that the way i did it, from inside pwrSDR, audio option menu tab.
..oddly enough, with wireless internet working, with regular 800 uSec dpc
spikes every 10 sec, if i go ahead and log on with google, I can bump audio
buffers on down to 512...???...for about 15 minutes or so...then the
motorboating..
as mentioned before, with wired ethernet connected, logged on or not, and no
dpc spikes above 350 uSec, can only lower audio buffers to 1024...
cpu utilization around 30 +/- 5 %....
am i 'beating a dead horse' trying to get audio buffers down to 256, for ultra
snappy cw ??

Dan,

Make sure that you're changing the buffer size in PowerSDR's Setup Form ->
Audio Tab (as opposed to changing it in the radio control panel).  This will
ensure that the application is aware of the change and makes all of the
necessary changes to the DSP, Audio, etc to handle the smaller buffers.

ok, i put psdr 2 on my laptop. win 7 home 32 bit. ibm  T-60. ti-chipset express
firewire card. 4gb ram. dpc's under 200 uS. with ethernet internet. 800 usec
spikes every 10 sec with wireless internet....but it runs anyway !!

found i had to run the audio buffers up to 1024 to get received audio to sound
'clean'. with EITHER internet connection...

if i start the 8028 firewire driver software, i see i still have choices of
normal, safe mode 1, 2, and 3...but i dont seem to have access to the various
modes from inside PSDR 2.

even fiddled a bit with 'process priority'...didnt make much difference.

what am i missing? or "shut up and just be happy it's running" ??
