It is frustrating to wait and wait. In the beginning it was, "next month, next month," for a long time. People got tired of that so Flex stopped say anything about the development. Even they did not expect the problems they have run into fixing the code. So now their silence is almost as frustrating to owners as their pronouncements of new code Real Soon Now. I have had the fortune to participate in some of their internal meetings. I have seen things from their point of view. I can tell you that no one is any more desirous of delivering the 2.0 version of PowerSDR that does everything they have promised. As one of the people doing the private beta testing I have seen ALL the changes. I believe that they have FINALLY nailed the CW problems with the software but there are still some unacceptable bugs left in there which they are squashing one by one. So I am fortunate enough to see the incremental changes and improvement to which others are not privy. I see the "two steps forward, one step back," that keeps them from releasing the code. Fortunately for me, I *DO* see the "two steps forward" part. I know they are getting there. I think that, when Flex releases the next public beta, CW ops are going to be *very* pleased. It has never been much of an issue for me because my interest is in experimental digital modes, not CW, AM, or SSB, so the radio is almost the only radio of any kind I have found suitable, period. I guess it depends on your point of view. I do think that, if you dump your radio now, you will be disappointed shortly. 73 -- Brian Lloyd, WB6RQN/J79BPL 3191 Western Dr. Cameron Park, CA 95682 [email protected] +1.767.617.1365 (Dominica) +1.931.492.6776 (USA) (+1.931.4.WB6RQN) _______________________________________________ Flexedge mailing list [email protected] http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexedge_flex-radio.biz This is the FlexRadio Systems e-mail Reflector called FlexEdge.
