The transmitter appears to be quite clean. I like that the ANAN-10 is rated at 10W but puts out over 15W on most bands. As for the software there are a couple of packages that run on Windows and at least one that runs on MacOS. On Windows you can run PowerSDR, cuSDR, or KISS Console. The version of PowerSDR is based on V2.3 but has had work done to it to make it much like V2.5. It is a different branch of code. > I don't see enough info to make a comparison. I wonder if Apache has a > history of SDR equipment? > No. The ANAN-10 and ANAN-100 are based on the TAPR HPSDR "Hermes" board. This is somewhat similar in architecture to the upcoming Flex 6500 with a single DDC path and a single DUC path. If you go back far enough in time, you will remember that TAPR put out the TNC-2 and then let many companies manufacture it. For example, you could get a TAPR TNC-2 from MFJ. So MFJ manufactured and sold the TNC-2, they just didn't design it. In this case Apache manufactures and sells the Hermes board, but didn't design it. It does appear that Apache is the designer of the PA, preamp, and filter bank used with the ANAN-10 and ANAN-100. -- Brian Lloyd, WB6RQN/J79BPL 3191 Western Dr. Cameron Park, CA 95682 [email protected] +1.767.617.1365 (Dominica) +1.916.877.5067 (USA) _______________________________________________ Flexedge mailing list [email protected] http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexedge_flex-radio.biz This is the FlexRadio Systems e-mail Reflector called FlexEdge.
