Hi Brian

I sure hope you have shares in Flex as this kind of puppy love is scary

I for one do not need to be dragged anywhere, if it is good i am interested, as simple as that really.

Flex are innovators and have great products but there are plenty of others biting at their heals so lets hope they keep the lead as for us in the UK a few cracks are already showing.

Hi Dave,

It is not a competitor to the Flex 6000 series. It is simply the result of
a lot of hard and dedicated work by "Amateurs" from
around the world -- building on Phil Covington's (N8VB) initial great
efforts on DDC/DUC designs.

And if you think about it that way, remember that Gerald started out
building QSD radios as an experiment over 10 years ago. It is
fortunate for us that it actually grew into a company giving us
products like the 1500/3000/5000 and soon the 6000 series. It takes
the work of a few dedicated people to drag the rest of the ham
community kicking and screaming into the future. :-) I think that if
ham radio advanced by the rule of the majority we would all still be
using spark.
