Wait for an offical announcement. Rumors, Dayton rumors at that, are not helpful no matter the source. If it's true then there's a huge gap between the 3000 and 6500 in both price and preformance. If you want RX2 you'll pay 3x the price of of the 3000 to get it. There may be something we don't know about yet, maybe I'll go over to the eham SDR forum and ask Stan and Gene /sarcasm :)
I won't be jumping from my 5000 to the 6xxx series anytime soon, don't need the next "shiny thing". Something else to think about, how many can actually use the full potential of of the 6000 series? Nice to have the capability, even nicer to be able to actually make use of it.
