I'd like to write a much smarter texture manager (that would also
facilitate things like large scale photo-real scenery) but it's a
non-trivial task and there have been higher things on my priority
list.

We are still looking for a re-distributable C172 model.  Maybe David
will make one when he finishes his DC-3. :-)
