All F-16 3d models in Falcon are made by Robert "PumpyHead" Lozada. He licensed his models under royalty-free license (personally, I don't quite understand this license, so I attached it beside if anyone can tell me more about it). I'm not sure, does the model need to be licensed under GPL or every model could have its own license, if we use it in FlightGear?

They need to be GPL.
Otherwise RedHat, Mandrake et all can't include it in their distributions. It would be possible however to distribute it separately. But for the F-16 I'd prefer to have a GPL licensed 3d model.

Ah, I see (although I don't quite remember when did Mandrake or RedHat include FGFS in their distro:)).

You may only distribute the Content, electronically or in hard copy,as specifically authorized under paragraph 3. You may not authorize any third party to use the Content for any purpose or resell, or sublicense. You may not, under any circumstances, use Content in connection with any pornographic or immoral materials.

Here you go, we can't use the F-16 3d model for pornographic materials.

OMG, then it's off:).
No seriously, isn't GPL more strict than his license, so we could license his work to at least as GPL (in one paragraph I know it's written we have to protect his work from ones who would dare breaking his terms. GPL includes all his terms plus more, so I think we could do that without a problem).

I have some other problems: does anyone of you guys know how to treat Falcon LODs? I know there are some scripts to import 3DS files to Falcon database, but not in the other direction. I'm sending the latest PumpyHead F16 3D model in LOD format if anyone knows how to open it (I used OGLLOD viewer and LodEdit with Wine, to view/edit the model, but as I said, there's no way to export to 3DS or any other standard 3D file format).
