Guys, what if we have to different packages from now on. One, the base one (all the stuff under GPL and family license) and one the upgrade (all the things, like Pumpyhead's F-16 model, these textures and many other stuff found on the net). Cause the problem is that 90% of material on the net is mostly non-GPLed, it's only mentioned for free, non-commercial etc. and we can't now just request every author, to relicense his work especially for us. So Redhat, Suse, Mandrake and others should include only the base packge and exec, but for the upgrade, users should download them separately.
Comments?
I have my concerns about this.
If people want to maintain their own version of the base package, that's fine with me, but the official release should always be GPL or less restrictive.
If we can't get models from others, then we have to make our own. It's not like we are in a hurry or something so it might take/require some time.
Erik
Yeah, I gave my thought above some additional thought and found out that as you said, we're not in some hurry anyway, so things may wait for a while or so. Maybe the maintainers will change their licenses some day or write some specially for us.
