In any case the default material property values in ac3d are not the same as the light properties. I'm not sure what he's using for the lights. AFAIK they can't be adjusted.
This seems to be correct. After reading a lot of articles on the OpenGL lighting implementation material defaults should actually be:
ambient: 0.2 diffuse: 1.0 specular: 0.5
And default lighting should be:
ambient: 0.0 diffuse: 1.0 specular: 1.0
Note: these are _defaults_
I'll check in the updated materials.xml file but not the lighting changes.
