You mean to take kown places for reference and determine the error of their placement in VMap0 data ? We'll have only a small amount of usuable reference points like crossings of really straight motorways. What else do you have in mind ?
Locations of bridges for one.
But to be honnest, having just one location per continent to compare the VMap0 data against could already give a much better result.
