I hadn't actually tried it with another joystick (although my usb mouse did work, they're all hid's) until just now. I have a 2.6.4 kernel with USB compiled as modules and loaded and joydev loaded. My Saitek Cyborg Evo USB works somewhat well ( the rudder twist was pegged left ) and my CH y+p don't work at all. My console is littered with USB debugging info, so I'll take a poke at this problem if I get time (I already have a kernel bugzilla entry). I know it sounds like a strange fix, but it also worked for someone else on the users list.
