Could you send me an example or two or three of airports that are especially glaringly wrong? I hope to dig into this problem in the upcoming week to see if I can get to the bottom of it.
LOAN is all under-ground, with one side face even missing.
LOLM is in a quite deep hole -- a challenge to take off with a c310
KMRY isn't raied/lowered much, but has a strange grass runway part in the middle of a normal asphalt runway.
KEDW has such a wavy surface, that you can't take off with the Hunter from the default runway (breaks your gear)
EDDS also cuts into the environment.
One thin I have been thinking of causing problems might be the lack of taxiways for certain airports. What happen when (the correct) taxiways are added is that the airports area gets extended which (in the end) may cause the flattened surface to touch the right portions of the surrounding surface eliminating any sudden terrain changes.
Anyway, that's my thought.
