Could you send me an example or two or three of airports that are especially glaringly wrong? I hope to dig into this problem in the upcoming week to see if I can get to the bottom of it.
LOAN is all under-ground, with one side face even missing.
LOLM is in a quite deep hole -- a challenge to take off with a c310
KMRY isn't raied/lowered much, but has a strange grass runway part in the middle of a normal asphalt runway.
KEDW has such a wavy surface, that you can't take off with the Hunter from the default runway (breaks your gear)

I'm wondering if I somehow managed to use one terrain data source for the terrain surface and a different terrain data source for the airport surface. That's the only thing I've found so far in the code that could explain these odd discrepancies.
I'll do some more checking later once I get SRTM Africa sorted out.
