Unless test1 and test2 do something useful they can be easily removed from simgear/sound/makefile.am
We sometimes include test programs into the source tree that don't get installed by default. They are just to test the particular subsystem, nothing more nothing less.
But there is really no need to remove them from Makefile.am. The only thing they do is add a small bit of compile time, nothing noticeable compared to the compile time of the complete project.
