No, he isn't the only one. Did you try the same setup with XOrg instead of XFree86 ? I run XOrg-6.8.2 with the r200 driver most of the time and I can't remember expieriencing trouble that somehow matches your description. Probably I didn't create a comparable setup - would you like to describe in detail via private EMail which 'tuning' you choose to trigger this error ?
