Having had loads of fun with the Harrier tonight, I have this extra comment... I think the gear needs a good bit more damping - I've used damp=4 on all the gear which is very much better, although possibly a wee bit much? Perhaps the spring rates of the u/c need upped a tiny bit too, I've not played with that yet. Regarding the thrusters I think it should be easier to "spin" the a/c while flat in the hover; at the moment it's too balanced and wants to roll as much as spin. Increasing the thrust available to the yaw thrusters improved that situation a bit. Oh, and does the engine spool up a touch too slowly? I'm not so sure about that one. All my knowledge of harrier behaviour has been gleaned from studying videos of them in flight (for those interested there are a few here, some better than others http://www.flyingmarines.com/Videos/Video_Gallery.htm) I have no real life experience of them, so my comments should be regarded with healthy skepticism :-) I've played about with the harrier FDM before, but it's amazing how much more fun it is (and easier to see what's happening) with a proper 3d model there. This should (I trust will) be a really interesting a/c for the fgfs hangar, in a similar way to the bo105.
