Hi, I'm learning NASAL in order to animate a few aircraft parts. I played around and managed to get an animation wich fits fine to the movement of a nose strut shock absorber (the ones like the C172 has at the nose wheel). The whole movement is started by a single property in the tree and can be adapted to a variety of similar geometries.
Well, making it work was fun :-) Now I wonder if that could be integrated in a plane model and if there's some support in the dynamics of the aircrafts for ground-wheel_absorber contact. Actual landing gear movements in FGFS seem to be limitated to extension/retraction but I don't see any shock absorbing simulation. Am I missing something? A preview of the animation can be seen at http://www.laubfrosch.it/public/tmp/FGFS_strut_mech.avi Roberto ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
