You should also submit to Martin Spott as he's keeping a track of airport layouts as well. > Quick question? how many users have been "kicked off the FG network" cos > they didnt have a licence ? Not quite sure I understand the question. Do you mean "how many users have been kicked off for not flying/acting correctly?" - None. However, reading further down, I think you're concerned about the effects of letting lots of children loose in the MP Environment. If you are particularly concerned, you could always run your own MP server. > As I'm on Ubuntu/Debian/Apt and one thought that keeps recusing, thought > that keep, thought is a central debian packages for scenery. OR you can pass in a --fg-scenery argument. It's all in the manual. > What we all want it a simple click of a button to "pull" and update the > data. > > I understand that this can be pulled live ? however that sucks > bandwidth. and its not gonna be cached which means cash for ISP. Yes, that's TerraSync. However, if you're putting together your own LiveCDs there's no reason not to include a significant chunk of scenery (e.g. the whole of the UK) on them. Admittedly you won't pick up new improvements to the scenery, but it should at least get you the scenery you want. > It would be possible to create a scenario with say 10 laptops/PC's all > boot from FlightGear.Live CD. If you've got a local scenery server and a local network connection, you could have all the scenery on the server and use it as a filer, exporting the scenery directiry. You'd then NFS mount the scenery directory onto each of the clients and set FG_SCENERY to the mount. Performance might be a bit of an issue, but shouldn't be too bad. > These are some thoughts. FG LiveCDs are a very neat way to get someone just to give FG a try. > maybe it's a silly idea mad idea, but I err towards having some > distributed system, and that goes with the multiplayer. It sounds a very interesting project. -Stuart ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Let Crystal Reports handle the reporting - Free Crystal Reports 2008 30-Day trial.
