Thorsten,
While you have your head under the replay hood; Originally the replay
system did not record itself replaying a flight, but along the way, a subtle
code change messed this up so we recorded our replay as if it was a live
flight. This led to an endless playback loop where we'd replay a replay of
our replay (for as many times as we let it run.)
A side effect of this is that if you replayed more than the last 60 seconds
of your flight, you would never actually see the high res last 60 seconds of
the flight that showed every nuance and burble and wiggle.
Somewhat recently someone fixed this so that at the end of the replay, the
sim would enter a pause state (and we wouldn't fill up the front end of the
buffers with a replay of the back end of the buffers.) It was really nice
to see that final phase of a landing (for instance) in complete detail.
Now recently it seems like this problem may have crept back. I haven't dug
into it myself, I've just observed the endless replay cycle is happening
again.
Maybe you could take a quick look into that as well while you are working on
the system?
Thanks!
Curt.
