Sorry if you mentioned this already somewhere, but: does this problem also occur if you do not start FlightGear by using fgrun, but rather by starting fgfs(.exe) directly ?
For example, what happens if you change to FlightGear's directory and execute:
fgfs [enter]
(Just trying to figure out if this problem is specific to fgrun or also happens with fgfs directly)
