just to jump quickly, I want to see the AI also, so I'll try the suggestions, but one thing I do notice is the text on the screen is partially hidden by the menus across the top. Is there a way to make the text appear lower on the screen, or hide the menus? Mac OS.

Have you swapped 119.0 into the active frequency on comm1 after setting it? Does the ATC text display work on your system? Tune comm1 to 119.0 (or any towered airport in range) and press the ' key to contact ATC. If you are tuned into a towered airport you should see a dialog box come up offering 'Contact tower for VFR arrival' as one of the options. Press OK for contact tower for VFR arrival - you should see your transmission ("This is Golf Foxtrot Sierra..." etc) near the top of the screen. Is the AI system activating properly? If you compile FG yourself, then uncomment line 188 in src/ATC/AIMgr.cxx to leave cout << activated.size() << '\n'; This should output a number every frame which gradually increments to 6 (if you start at KSFO) over the course of 10 seconds or so. (It's the number of airports with AI traffic arrivals activated). The GA AI traffic is often very hard to see. It is removed from the runway at the end of roll-out, so won't be seen in the parking areas, and often looks like a hard to see dot when in the air. I'll put a couple of screenshots up when I get a chance. Sitting at the approach end of the runway (on the taxiway or apron otherwise they'll go around) and watching them land is the best way to watch them in action. I can't really think of anything else at the moment, unless it's something to do with random number generation differences between machines or compiler versions, since the traffic is all generated randomly. I'm compiling with gcc-3.3. Cheers - Dave Flightgear-users mailing list [email protected] http://mail.flightgear.org/mailman/listinfo/flightgear-users 2f585eeea02e2c79d7b1d8c4963bae2d |
