I'll explain what I experienced. To get my direct rendering to work, I
installed redhat packages on my mandrake system (the mandrake packages
weren't able to enable direct rendering for some reason). However, I
discovered that my headers and my libraries had a tiny difference in
version.after I had reinstalled my libraries to match my headers, FlightGear
worked, but I lost direct rendering because these libraries were really
needed by glide of X or something.. Now I have upgraded my headers to match
my libraries and I'm recompiling tonight.. I'll keep you informed..
