Hi Christian,
Had a look at GoogleEarth and noticed the minimum requirements... my ol'
clunker PC I use for mail and scenery stuff is P1 166/98SE... the FG PC (my
partners) is P4 1.8G but still only running Me ...they say the minimum OS
is 2k or xp :-(
it (GoogleEarth) certainly looked like something that would help me.
If some kind hearted 3D modeller wanted to do the construct I'd certainly be
able to provide all the photos that were required since I can drive past
both in the line of my work.
I can see the News on the FG Home Page "Kiwi User List launched ... 3
subscribers inundate mail server!!" ;->

Have you tried Google Earth? I just had a look at NZ with it. The
Aukland area is very detailed (next to the Harbour Bridge are many
little boats sailing on the water :)) and the rest should be detailed
enough to get a position that you can fine tune in the FGFS scenery.
The Queenstown runway is e.g. many pixels long and even a "town" like
Tapanui covers quite a few pixels (you can even see the main road).
Oh, IIRC, Te Papa should be quite easy to model. And the Beehive could
work when you can get a photo of it and create a texture out of that.
The geometry would be just a cone then.

I'd subscribe - but then we'd still only be a quater dozen ;)
CU,
Christian
