There are a lot of people building "simpits". Take a look at the Cockpit building forum on http://www.avsim.net/, check out the info at http://www.fscockpit.com/ or just google "home built cockpit simulator" for a lot of links and ideas. I just started building one of these (http://www.mindaugas.com/projects/MJoy16/) this week to interface a future switch panel, yoke, pedals and engine controls.
