My guess is that it would be a whole lot cheaper to buy one. After
owning a Electronic Parts store - I can see the cost being more than
buying one and no warranty.
Also the mechanical gimble of the stick and connecting linear
potentiometers to it would be a bit trickie.
I will suggest if you buy one say clear of Logitech Extreme 3D Pro due
to bad centering stability.
