You might try turning on sync to vblank to slow flightgear down. In the old
days, high frame rates were not a problem, but now it appears that you can
buy a machine that produces insane frame rates. I wonder if there is
something in our timing code that isn't setup to deal well with this
situation?

didn't happen. Was I lucky or is there some issue with SMP machines and
flightgear?
