The idea is to further increase your FlightGear framerate, which depends on the vertical refresh rate of your graphiccard/LCD display combination in case you set VSync on (as you and I have to do due to the stutter problems). Increasing the vertical refresh rate from 60 to ie 85 could make your FlightGear display smoother. It is just a pity to "brake" FlightGear an such a modern hitec system you own too much. It might be FlightGear is loosing too much time waiting for the next VSync display cycle, just a thought :-).
