I'm not sure if this question belongs here or in the developer's forum, so please let me know if it's in the wrong place.

I'm using flightgear to create a controller to fly an aircraft. This involves numerous 'short flights' of up to 5 minutes, and the overall process has stretched over hours. My question relates to speeding up the simulation for the purpose of speeding up the 'training' process, but not at the expense of altering the flight dynamics. Basically I'd need the trained controller to behave the same as it did during these 'sped-up' numerous flights, when I'd use it in normal simulation speed.

The training is dependent on the simulation time as well as ground speed and other time-dependent variables. I'm hoping not to influence these variables when speeding the simulator up.

Is this possible, and if so, how?
Please let me know if there's any details needing clarification.

thanks.
