unfortunately Google earth has a update delay of 1s. most GPS receivers
previously only updated at 1hz anyway so that was never an issue. so when
you track a 747 in google earth for example its not that great, but it works
ok. Pigeon has been nice enough to do all the hard work for us and if you
connect to one of teh flightgear servers (i.e.
mpserver02.flightgear.orgport 5000) and then point your google earth
to
http://pigeond.net/flightgear/fgmap/fg_server_map.kml
I think that the FGMap is more useful to us flyers though.

Hi!

From what i understand, FlightGear can produce a Garmin compatible
GPS data stream and Google Earth (Plus, Pro, Enterprise) can be feed
with such a data stream. So in theory, i guess it would be possible
to combine FlightGear with Google Earth in order to generate a
high resolution szenario in addition to the FG output, i.e. on a
second display. Could be very helpfull for VFR.

Somebody already tried that out? (sorry for this potential noob
question).
