Hi Bernhard, >From your description above, it sounds like what you want is a secondary display that shows your aircraft and the surrounding terrain to give you better situational awareness. Why not simply run another copy of FlightGear on a second computer, which is slaved to the first and shows a different viewpoint, for example directly above the aircraft looking straight down?
