Vivian-

I'm running an HP 300+ AMD Athlon 64, 960 MB of RAM, XP SP2, I have Jon
Berndt looking into possibly adding more error handling, as it is most
likely an error condition in JSBSim that I am causing.

I tried to compile FG previously, but when I ran into problems, I gave up,
since my intent was not to compile FG, but to work on a model. Are there new
instructions about for compiling FG? I'm reasonably talented with a
keyboard, just not that familiar with all the development that is going on.

Thanks,
Bill

Bill,

Hmm - it never crashes XP here when I'm developing stuff, although FG can
crash. In fact XP very, very rarely crashes under any circumstances here (I
can't remember the last time). What is your system spec, and what are you
doing when this happens? Any error message?

If you are developing stuff it would be wise to use the cvs head versions of
fg/sg.

Subject: [Flightgear-users] Windows dies during development

I am working on developing an aircraft model for FlightGear under Windows
XP, and FlightGear 0.9.10. I'm a real novice at this, and my system crashes
a LOT due to my mistakes, and I am by no means trying to blame FlightGear,
but it hangs my system up and I have to do a hard reset of Windows. I'm just
worried that one of these times, it's not going to come back up at all.
Plus, I'm wasting a lot of time on the reboots.

Is there a way to keep this from happening (Yeah, I know, BESIDES writing
good models). I try to make small changes, but that doesn't always work.

If anyone cares, I'm trying to combine DATCOM and Aeromatic to build more
complete models for FlightGear.

Thanks,
Bill
