Like you I have also been using FlightGear for several years. I have never seen this issue and it appears that almost no one else has either. In fact, I go "flying" on an almost daily basis and I usually do low level aerobatics when I go flying. So even small gliches in how the controls work would be a significant issue for me since I would likely auger in if this type of thing was happening. I do auger in every now and then but it is because I did something dumb not because of the controls messing up. One clue is that farther back in this thread you wrote "Guess what--google does the same thing!" I assume by this you mean the flight sim that is part of google earth. But maybe not? Could you provide more info about the google connection? This might give people more to work with to try to help you out. This again points to something other than FlightGear being the root cause of the problem (after all how could FlightGear cause google to have a problem?). One other difference is that I suspect that the vast majority of flightgear users have and use a joystick. I am thinking on the order of 99% of them have a joystick. For example, I have the full nine yards with a joystick, pedals and a throttle quadrant. So I never even have to touch the keyboard or mouse well I am flying. Your problem could very well be an issue with: 1. The mouse code in FlightGear - but the fact that this also affects google makes this less likely. 2. Your mouse at the hardware level. Have you been using the same mouse or type of mouse for all three machines and since you started using FlightGear? 3. The X11 mouse drivers. 4. USB mouse support in the kernel. 5. Who knows what that affects a mouse?? In any case so far what we have to go on is: 1. You use a mouse for your controller. 2. The same thing happens in --google. 3. It happens with the latest version of FlightGear. 4. You are running Slackware Linux. 5. You have tried it on several similarly configured machines. This is not much info to provide you with help but the main clue is that most users are not seeing this and most users use a joystick. In fact my experience with FlightGear using a qaulity joystick has been very good. Perhaps a good test would be to find a friend who has a good qaulity joystick you can borrow and give it a try with FlightGear. I will give you 10 to 1 odds that you will not see this problem when using a joystick. Besides the FDM in FlightGear is so good that you really need a joystick to do it justice.
