I wasn't too surprised about that - a total loss of power shortly 
before touch-down leaves you very short of energy whilst in a 
high-drag configuration - hence being lucky to reach the airfield.  

The pilot must have been flying the very last stages at the absolute 
stall limit, to get those extra feet in distance towards the runway 
before it would dump on the ground.  To be honest, I expect the 
outcome turned out better than the pilot expected when (s)he 
realised that they would land short.  The near approach path isn't 
exactly clear of obstacles, or people, either.
