Yes, I'm using 32 bit OSes and I have the latest ATI drivers installed as well as Catalyst. I cannot find a switch or setting anywhere that turns it on. it just says it is on. No where does it explicitly state that it is in hardware or software mode.
How about emailing ATI support and asking them! Explicitly ask how to
turn "Hardware acceleration on with OpenGL" Its worth a try as there
must be something wrong or their hardware is simply not up to the task. Another Video card is not that expensive and even the lower spec Nvidia
cards run OK.

Well, ATI was a dead end. They passed my back to HP (Compaq). Now I shall see where HP can pass me off to. What a run around.

Ok, I finally got somewhere!!!!! A major BIOS update, driver update and now I can run. I start up FGFS with no issues now. All seems well and fast, for at least the first 3 mins. Then things go back to being choppy again. I assume this is some kind of cache setting or something?
