Hi there,

Apologies to anyone thinking I've posted to the wrong list - when I click to
subscribe to either mailing list on terragear.org I get a 'server not found'
dead link...

First the good news - I finally managed to build terragear-cs on openSUSE 11.0!
A tricky process fraught with pitfalls, but nonetheless its done now.

...and in other news I'm struggling with fgfs-construct. I've run through the
process on the wiki to the letter, but fgfs-construct  finds no polys to put
into the scenery. It completes but I only see ocean when I use the new scenery.
My command is...

fgfs-construct --work-dir=work/ --output-dir=output/ --lon=152 --lat=-27
--xdist=2 --ydist=1 SRTM-30 AirportArea AirportObj EvergreenBroadCover Freeway
GrassCover IntermittentLake IntermittentStream Lake Landmass Railroad Road Sand
Stream Town Urban

Running the command it seems to be chewing away on something, but I see things
like...

Failed to open Array file work/Lake/e150s30/e154s26/5476352
array_path = work/Landmass/e150s30/e154s26/5476352
  Cannot open work/Landmass/e150s30/e154s26/5476352.arr.gz
  Cannot open work/Landmass/e150s30/e154s26/5476352.fit.gz
Failed to open Array file work/Landmass/e150s30/e154s26/5476352
array_path = work/Railroad/e150s30/e154s26/5476352
  Cannot open work/Railroad/e150s30/e154s26/5476352.arr.gz
  Cannot open work/Railroad/e150s30/e154s26/5476352.fit.gz
Failed to open Array file work/Railroad/e150s30/e154s26/5476352

..and also...

poly_path = work/Town/e150s30/e154s26
cannot open directory work/Town/e150s30/e154s26
  loaded 0 total polys

So fgfs-construct is trying to load stuff from work folders that don't exist. I
have explicitly set lat/lon limits on the command line all the way through the
process, where applicable. I cannot understand why it searches for folder names
like e154s26 - those are presumably outside the boundaries of the lat/lon
limits I've imposed.

Does anyone have any clues to unravel this mystery? Do I need to download
terrain and shapefiles for an area larger than the one I want to rebuild? (I've
limited downloads to the exact 2x1 tile area thus far).

I'm so close... just this one last hurdle to overcome and I'll be able to
rebuild dodgy aprons and runways to my hearts content (and send off improved
.dat files to Robin Peel)...

Kind regards,

Chris Wilkinson, YBBN/BNE.
