I already have Ubuntu (and Kubuntu) 9.04 Desktop edition. I'll just use that ;-)

There's a memory test option on the main menu thingie of the Live cd
(install, try out ubuntu without touching your HD, test memory, etc)

I've been on windows for my whole life. When I was five years old (i
think) my dad got an AMD Athlon XP. Up untill then, he was using a
Gateway 2000 486DX-2, so I got to use it. I can officially say that
MS-DOS 6.0 and MS WIndows 3.1 were the first OS I ever used. I've been
a windows user ever since (not that i LIKE microsoft, just I've been
using windows for years)...
