# the cocoon
And death shall have no dominion.
Upon this street where time has died.
The bulging eyes and the twisted mouth,
O highway I travel, do you say to me Do not leave me?
I followed her to the station with my suitcase in hand
Why then are you so surprised to hear your own eulogy?
I heard he was up on the roof last night signaling with a flashlight.
And all the fat-skinny people, and all the tall-short people
And all the nobody people, and all the somebody people
stood and stared, A crowd of people
I never thought I'd need so many people
they stretched their blankets out 'neath the freeway
and each one took a name, there was X-man and Cochise
Little Spider Pushing thru the market square,
Famish'd, weeping, weak, With hollow piteous shriek.
He runs through the streets and his socks goin down
And his eyes they burn as they touch the ground
so many mothers sighing
And dream they see their child Starv'd in desert wild.
>From a seed somebody else has thrown
from a chaos raging sweet, from the deep and dismal street
The earth,
that is sufficient,
The cocoon surrounds you Embraces all So you can sleep Foetus-style
Pale, thro' pathless ways The fancied image strays
Desperate for changing, Starving for truth,
Don't ask me nothin' about nothin', I just might tell you
I'm tired of being All wrapped up late at night
For there is no place that does not see you
You need to change your life,

one hot minute
Hello everyone, I'm planning a collaborative soundpiece and am looking for
contributors !!!
The plan is:
someone starts out with one minute of sound/music in mp3 and sends ist to
the next person, who adds something to the mix without lenghtening it and so
on (like you did with midi). Voilà, in the end we have a complex
international one-minute-piece consisting of influences all over the world.
Everything is allowed as long as you add something. (of course nobody
seriously thought about removing)
So far, so good!
The only catch to it:
I would really like the mp3 to be in cd-quality (128kbps / stereo / 44kHz)
meaning a file size of ~950kb.
WAIT I can hear you protest !!!
You are right, BUT the great advantage is: We could add tiny little noises
which won't get lost to the last contributor, and it will be broadcastable /
burnable if anyone so desires! No sound gets lost during en/decoding, every
crackle counts. We have the whole palette from left to right and 50Hz to
20kHz.
Technical:
For those who fear large email-attachments we could alternatively set up a
freedrive-account or something, so that every paticipant could download the
piece and check the current progress.
Okay,
hope you're hot now! Don't hesitate a minute and be a part of it.
