Hi all,
I would like people to consider the following questions:
1) What is the goal of Fluxlist?
2) What relationship does Fluxlist have to Fluxus?
I'm interested in all possible answers to these 2 questions. I ask these
questions because I know why I'm on Fluxlist. That is to say I'm on Fluxlist
because I enjoy interacting with the majority of people and I enjoy most of
the discussion. I think that's the same reason most of us are on Fluxlist,
even those of you who spend more time criticising than anything else still
enjoy the list, if you didn't you wouldn't still be on it.
So we know we're all on the list because most of the time we enjoy it and
enjoy each other's company online (and in some cases also offline). So we
know why we're here but do we know what we're here to do? Are we indeed here
to do anything? In other words what are our goals if any?
We also are on this list because we are interested in or have participated
in Fluxus. Does being on this list constitute participating in Fluxus?
Basically what relationship does Fluxlist have to Fluxus?
I know that in theory all these questions are answered in the list FAQ and
welcome info sheet but this list has changed over the years and it would be
nice to think about such questions again.
One thing I realised as an owner and still realise now I'm no longer in that
position is that the list only exists by virtue of all of us choosing to
interact with each other for better or worse. When we have times on the list
when things seem bad it is our memories of previous good times that keep us
going. I think many of us would have tales to tell of how being on Fluxlist
has been largely a rewarding experience. I also think that most of the
recent posts show how much people care about the list. So I guess I'm just
asking for a bit of clarification on the "why are we here" question.
So anyway, if anyone wants to answer my above questions I'd be very
interested to know what you think.
cheers,
Sol.
