Hi Alan and Ann,

Alan, eh up lad, hope you had good time gadding about in New York!

>you can't hear absolute silence (external)
because you hear your own sounds (internal)

so you'd probably be wasting your money buying a tape of silence(!)<

True...e.g in an anechoic chamber you just hear your heart and nervous
system (v.weird.......we have one here at Keele for neurological Research so
sometimes I get to play in one) but my point was that you can record true
silence as oppose to "Cagean" silence (i.e background noise) so Rogalsky had
the choice.

Ann, never been to the desert.......sounds pretty cool.........maybe one
day.

cheers,

Sol.
