Thank you I did all of this. The Virus Scan (which said it hadn't been done
in 120 days though I thought it had; but the Update was up to date) took
more than 45 mins.! It was ok I wrote a song while I waited. I did get a
strange message before running the scan that my boot record had changed
which was ok if I had upgraded to Windows 98 (but that was 2 years or more
ago...) but otherwise it might indicate a virus and I should click on the
Ignore the change so I did. Then I ran the Scan and it found nothing. So am
I free and clear, doc? And should I go back and click on something else in
that Scan box?

MOST IMPORTANT: The original message which contained the virus appears to
still be in my OUtlook Ex. inbox. I hesitate to highlight it because before
that immediately caused the virus to activate. I was never able to delete
the message. Could you remind me how to close my preview box? I recall I
tried to follow some instructions you recently gave someone else but
couldn't find the final dialog box anywhere. Is there any other way I can
get this email deleted? The subject says it's a new email address for a
friend (though her name is misspelled I think!) so I can get that from her
later.
