Thank you for your suggestion and directions.  You did understand my
question correctly, however you didn't understand how lazy I am.  I am
looking for a "stitch" or photomerge program that takes the photos you line
up fairly well and then makes a computer decision about how to join them and
flatten the image.  There is a new cheap AdobePhotoShop abbreviated version
that does this and it seemed that the complete PhotoShop 6 that I have
should have such a function.
Until I find that, I will take your good advice.  Thank you.
