>From a quick look at the contributors license (I couldn't find a link that works) it appears that when code is contributed to the ASF the copyright is granted to the ASF. THe contributor does reserve remaining rights, title and interest. I don't know if code contributed under this agreement is the same as code contributed with normal patches etc., maybe it is implied?
