I have a difficult table presentation to create and nesting tables within each other (like in HTML) would cure the layout prolems I am having. I wish to nest a table within the table-header. I have tried but FOP keeps blowing up. If I can't do this then it will mean using spans. Since I am generating the columns dynamically through XSLT, this poses another problem as I don't know ahead of time (except by performing a node count troughout the XML document) what ny actual column count is. Spans are not a pretty solution, but nesting tables is easy... If it will work. I'll keep plugging away until I hear definitively.
