hi, the talk proposal has been accepted!
now there are less than 2 months to work out a proper presentation. i'd appreciate your help in filling me in with background info, technical details, anything worth knowing about the project. this includes stuff that may not fit in the talk itself because i like to know more details to be able to answer questions or extrapolate material for the talk. consider this an opportunity to document what you know, and even if it ends up not fitting into the talk, it will be worth to write it for ourselves. you can also help by asking questions. imagine you'll be in the audience, what would you want to know? from your questions and the answers i'll then be able to write up the talk itself. i'll go through the outline one topic at a time to learn more details about each one. Outline: ======== * Short introduction to foresight and conary this one is easy :-) * What are we doing with fedora? i think mark summarized that quite well in his recent post: http://marktmisc.blogspot.de/2014/04/the-bright-future-of-foresight-linux.html very timely. thanks mark! may want to update it closer to the conference with what we achieved until then. the remaining topics i'll discuss in separate mails one by one: * Why is this interesting for the fedora community? * Enabling Fedora users to consume Fedora using a rolling model. * Demonstrating a new way to build a Fedora remix, one that takes advantage of the rolling model and helps the remixes stay current. * Contributing to upstream quality by catching certain classes of bugs prior to release. * Using Conary's extensive package build automation to make it easier to build better packages for Fedora. if you have other things that may be added that don't fit the above topics, please share as well. basically just throw stuff at me and we'll see what sticks. greetings, martin. -- eKita - the online platform for your entire academic life hackerspace beijing - http://qike.info -- chief engineer eKita.co pike programmer pike.lysator.liu.se caudium.net societyserver.org BLUG secretary beijinglug.org foresight developer foresightlinux.org realss.com unix sysadmin Martin Bähr working in china http://societyserver.org/mbaehr/ _______________________________________________ Foresight-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.foresightlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/foresight-devel
